Snow Days and Spring Muses

Today is March 18th and I would like to write about the snow. Today we had a snow “storm”. I feel like this is the first real snow day we’ve had this year and winter. And that is crazy because it’s March! One of the main reasons I moved from the lovely magical Florida was to live somewhere with snow again. And I was pretty upset that this winter had been very lacking in the snow department. So watching the snow fall consistently out the window at work today was so special. There is something about snow that to me just feels so whimsical and extraordinary. The detail in each individual snowflake is just completely wild to me. I mean if that’s not proof of magic in real life, then I don’t know what is. After feeling absolutely giddy because of the white wonderland that today was, I was feeling very introspective.

I got home from work and began scrolling through social media (as one does) and starting to really wonder where my passion, creativity and sense of purpose has gone. Because I am in this weird space where I feel like I should be obsessing over what YouTube videos to film or Instagram posts to make, and instead I just feel like, I don’t want to. Which is crazy because that has been my like one single dream for so long. To be a “Content Creator”. And now, I am, finally in a place where I am happy and content just being. I don’t feel this constant nagging in the back of my mind to be some intense workaholic, successful boss girl. And honestly, it feels really nice to just exist. But, as I mentioned I do feel a sort of lack of what used to drive me. So, I thought about it. I am happy just being and living in the life I have, but I also want to continue to be creative, to work towards a better me, and pursue joy in each and every day. An idea sparked, a plan was formed. I want this to be a year of doing just that. Reconnecting with myself and what makes me who I am, and figuring out who I am now, in this place, with these new goals and aspirations, by remembering who I was. I am going to strive to do hobbies I loved growing up and maybe just ones I used to do last year and have forgotten about. And find passions I have always wanted to try or explore. This is going to be a year of discovery and enlightenment. Now, you may be thinking, “Caroline, it’s almost the end of March. Not really the time to set New Years Resolutions.” And to that I say, it’s never too late. So, I hope you join me on this journey of remembering, discovering, and moving forward with no pressure and just finding what makes you feel like you. Just doing it because it makes you happy. Let’s find joy in each new day and week together!

Oh, and for romanticizing snow…even if it is basically Spring.
