My January reset, recapping the previous month, going over my new goals, affirmation, and focus for this month. I also include my January vision board, a playlist and other activities I plan on doing during the month.

December Recap
*favorite read: I think I’ve got to give it to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by: Suzanne Collins-This book was so good! I loved the Hunger Games books, they were actually one of the very few books I read when I was in high school (and thought I hated reading. haha). So I was very excited to read it, and bought it forever ago when it was released…but didn’t finish it. So this year I knew I wanted to read it before the movie came out. Just like when I originally started it, I had a hard time getting into it, but I did really enjoy it. And what I actually think put this book over the top for me and making it the favorite of the month, was the little Q & A with the author at the end of the book. She talks about the philosophy and war research that went into influencing the characters and I just thought that was so fascinating and you can totally see that in the book and in her writing! It was a really well written book, I highlighted so many lines and so many quotes. It was just so good.
*favorite movie: Absolutely has to be The Boy and the Heron-this movie was incredible. I know not everyone is a Studio Ghibli fan, but if you are, this newest (and last!) film by Miyazaki is sooo good. Honestly I don’t have the words, it’s so pretty, and the music..*chef’s kiss*
*best habit: for December, I didn’t have a specific habit I was working on, it was such a full month that I really wanted to just soak it all in and enjoy the moments. With my brother getting married, my parents coming to visit for Christmas, and getting ready to move, I really just took the time to take it all in.
*new recipe: Chia seed pudding was a big go to this month. *Little tip, mix it with the Clean Simple Eats German Chocolate Cake protein powder, it literally tastes like dessert…so good!
*new music: -Can’t Catch Me Now by Olivia Rodrigo (I mean, are you surprised?) -Sand by Dove Cameron — this song..oh my gosh..incredible -fruitcake-EP by Sabrina Carpenter
*other fun things: The Percy Jackson series came out! so far loving it! I think Tuesdays might be my new favorite days. I got a kindle for Christmas, it’s amazing! It makes reading at night in bed sooo much easier!

On to a new year! Ah! I truthfully cannot believe that it is time to be resetting, planning, and looking forward to 2024 already. But, I am seriously so happy for January to be here. There are some big changes coming in January, that I am both thrilled for, and nervous for. Moving pretty consistently is something I’ve done for a while, but I have been here in Orlando for 2 1/2 years, which is the longest I have stayed in one place, so normally when moving, I am just so excited and anxious for the change. But this time is very different. I am feeling sad, scared, and anxious for what lies ahead. But it is bittersweet, because I also can’t wait to be closer to family and friends, to live somewhere with winter again, and to start a new adventure! January (and February) are definitely going to be crazy months.
AFFIRMATION: I am the creator of my best reality-— all this planning comes down to action. I am the one who can make every day exactly what I want and need it to be.
FOCUS: putting all the plans into action— after weeks of getting ready for 2024, setting goals, intentions, and making resolutions. I really want to focus on starting right away on the right foot, working on creating habits and routines that will help me achieve the goals I set.
